The requirement
Iowa nursing licenses renew on a three-year cycle, and renewal requires 36 contact hours of continuing education, according to the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL).
Iowa also requires 2 hours of training in identifying and reporting child and/or dependent adult abuse every 3 years for nurses whose work involves those populations.
